The broad range of operations undertaken at New Norcia requires a diverse workforce, with positions ranging from professional to unskilled. Many services operate seven days per week and some operate in the evenings, so we need a flexible workforce where some staff are available outside normal “office” hours. For some full-time positions, rental accommodation on-site may be available.

Immediate vacancy. Work includes week days, weekends and evenings.
Museum and Art Gallery, Administration Officer/Tour Guide
Casual Employment for up to three days a week. Applicant must have good customer service, personal presentation and computer skills. Competent use of email, word processing and spreadsheets is essential. Retail experience is desirable. The ability to be able to learn and deliver a tour script and represent the organisation to the public is required (training is provided).
Museum and Art Gallery, Tour Guides
Casual positions. We are recruiting tour guides to facilitate visitors’ interpretation and engagement with New Norcia’s unique Monastic, European & Aboriginal heritage. Two tours are conducted per day commencing at 11.00 am and 1.30 pm and lasting for two hours. There are a number of days available with the option of working during week days and or weekends.
New Norcia Hotel, Front office/Administration Officer
Casual employment for up to three days a week. Good customer service and computer skills necessary, experience on a hospitality package is desirable. Competent use of email, word processing and spreadsheets is essential.
Group Accommodation and Education Centre Manager (commencing January 2012)
New Norcia provides group accommodation facilities used for school camps and by adult groups, catering for up to 230 guests at a time. Educational programmes are provided to visiting groups, covering religious, historic and Indigenous topics relevant to the site.
The position of manager of these services requires a dynamic, well-organised person with excellent customer service skills. Ideally the appointee will have worked with school groups and/or held responsibility for a hospitality facility that provides accommodation and meals. As well, experience in delivering educational or training programmes will be advantageous. Duties include liaison with schools and other groups booking the facilities, coordinating catering services, supervising cleaning staff, invoicing customers, and coordinating staff involved in delivering educational programmes.
