Hands-on Activities are a special feature at our Camp School

Hands-on activities are an integral part of our camps and they all have follow-up worksheets directly related to outcomes.
Individual items, too many to list here, are grouped under
Aboriginal Studies, Cottage Industries, Art History, Science, etc.

ABORIGINAL STUDIES
Some examples of the activities:
    Students make their own traditional tools
.
    Go on (seasonal) bush tucker walks.
    Look at animal tracking and make moulds.
    Practise the techniques used by artists.
    Try both boomerang and spear throwing.
    Listen to fascinating Aboriginal myths.
    Learn some of the local Yuat language.

ART HISTORY
Appreciation tours of the museum, art gallery and unique buildings with hands-on studies.


COTTAGE INDUSTRIES
Students can follow the process of baking bread and study the processing of olive oil by age old methods.
Also grind wheat into flour, spin the honey extractors, look at traditional wine presses and old farm machinery and technology.

SCIENCE (OUR SPACE ROOM)
Exploring a touch screen, handling a model launcher, studying the 'Mars Express' and viewing the deep space dish close up.
