Accommodation for Schools
Three unique venues are available for groups staying at New Norcia. Originally boarding schools, St Ildephonsus’ College and St Gertrude’s College provide plentiful accommodation for large groups and one other residential facility, known as the Old Convent, can house smaller visiting groups.
Capacity of the facilities
| St Gertrude’s College | up to 120 people |
| St Ildephonsus College | up to 80 people |
| Old Convent | up to 30 people |
Accommodation
Accommodation in all facilities is either small shared rooms or larger dormitories. Bathrooms and toilets are shared in all facilities (no en-suites). All facilities contain single beds only and although most visitors bring their own bed linen, for an additional fee, linen can be provided.
Catering
For groups of more than 30 guests, catering is provided by West Australian Caterers. Meals are usually eaten in St Ildephonsus’, regardless of which facility a group is staying in. Groups staying at the Old Convent are able to self-cater if they prefer.
Facilities
St Gertrude’s and St Ildephonsus’ both contain a number of sizeable work spaces on the ground floor. These allow groups to break up into smaller groups as they deliver their own programmes or work with New Norcia presenters. As well, additional small halls are available in St Joseph’s Hall, the Work Centre and the Seminar Room.
Groups also have access to the town’s recreational facilities which include a swimming pool in the summer months, tennis and basketball courts and ovals for football and hockey.
