Have been enjoying the peace and tranquility of the Monastery for the last few days and still have a few days left. Thank you to the volunteers workers, Abbot and Monks for making this a very tranquil and peaceful place to recharge my batteries. Thanks also to the kitchen staff who make the most delicious meals... God Bless you all Colleen

My husband has been one of the New Norcia researchers since 2000. Each time he returned from one of his visits he told me how extraordinary the town and the people are. Now I am sharing this unforgettable experience. It is a very special place and I am very grateful to have been able to visit it.

My father Edward Robert Sander was a pupil at your school as a boy. He was born in 1896 and may have been at school about ten years later. I would be interested to know if you have any records of him. He died in Fremantle in 196916/02/2004

I visited New Norcia on Saturday 8th November 2003. I found the town and its ambience quite arresting. The position of the town in the countryside lends the town a startling incongruity. I shall return. It would be an enchanting place to be wed.19/12/2003

I was very interested to view the site for New Norcia due to my connection to New Norcia through my Great Great Grandfather Angel De San Miguel who was born in Vitoria in the Basque Province of Alava Spain. Angel was a child who had been abandoned and was raised by the nuns at the church of Archangel De San Miguel. And eventually left Spain in December 1868 in the sailing ship Robert Morrison with a party of thirty one monks led by Bishop Salvado who was in Spain on mission business and to take the monks back to help build the mission at New Norcia in Western Australia. Angel was a stone mason by trade. Angel stayed for 16 days at New Norcia after meeting another Spanish ex monk Juan Bancell and he left and married Mary Postans. They settled in White Gum Valley out of Fremantle. My father Tim Taylor also was a student at New Norcia. So looking at the site and learning the history of the area is of great interest to my family in trying to make a connection with our ancestry. Deborah Botica10/12/2003

The site is great. I have a particular interest in that my great great grandfather Angel De San Miguel was an ex monk at the monastery when he arrived in May 1869. He left and settled in White Gum Valley out of Fremantle. My father Tim Taylor was a student at the New Norcia College. Deborah Botica10/12/2003

New Norcia - Gods divine love is a gift of thanksgiving and praise back to Him from all the Benedictine monks past to the present in all that it has and still offers. It is impossible to leave New Norcia and not know God and yourself just that little bit more. So may Gods perfect peace that only He can give abide with you now and in the times ahead. Yours in Christ, Gannon Jones.4/12/2003

Psalm 96 talks about life in the Lord as a new song. Well that's what we all want isn't it today more than ever, a new song. And there you all are singing it in a desert place in the middle of nowhere. God bless you all in my prayers you shall be in Christ and Benedict. Thank you for having a website on New Norcia. I journeyed there in 1975 and had a wonderful experience. I would like to contact Prior Justin Bruce as he was then. I am hoping he will remember me and be able to reply. I probably used my first name of Rob and had come from Adelaide.7/07/2002

I visited New Norcia exactly 25 years ago whilst on a Rotary Group Study Exchange to WA and I've never forgotten the place so I'm happy the website is here to refresh great old memories. Spent a lovely afternoon in that wonderful hotel too. My wife now works for Saint Vincent College in nearby Latrobe a Benedictine college and seminary. Some of the monks there have been to New Norcia. Hope to get back there someday. Keep up the good work.28/03/2002

An internet friend of mine who lives in Victoria has just spent a holiday in Western Australia and visited New Norcia. He was so taken by the place that he gave me your website address so that I could have a look round myself. I must admit to being totally fascinated by the whole concept of a monastery town and the vision which your founder must have had in establishing it. If I ever manage to visit Australia which I hope to do one day a visit to New Norcia is a must.1/03/2002
