1. Scope: The NNL has been instituted for three reasons:
2. Lecturer: The person to give the lecture shall be chosen by the NNL Management Committee on the merit of service and dedication to the library profession over a prolonged period of time.
3. Topic: Although the choice of topic is decided by the lecturer, the NNL Management Committee reserves the right to change the topic if it does not conform to the spirit of the event, which is primarily to promote theoretical and practical discussion within the library world. The topic must be confined to one clear subject area. The title of the lecture must be provided to the New Norcia Library six months in advance of the lecture date, along with a short (100 words) synopsis of the paper.
4. Workshop: A workshop co-ordinated by the lecturer shall comprise part of the day, and shall be based upon the topic of the lecture. This is intended to provide some practical relevance to the paper.
5. Publication: The paper must be received by the NNL Management Committee in a typewritten form two months in advance of the lecture date. All distribution rights and copyrights will be held by the New Norcia Library. The lecture and workshop may be taped or filmed by the New Norcia Library for later distribution.
6. Timetable: The lecture shall take between 50 minutes and one hour to deliver, followed by fifteen minutes of question time. The workshop should take up to one hour.
7. Admission fees: The NNL will charge people to attend the Lecture in order to cover costs.
8. Accommodation: The lecturer will be invited to stay with a partner in the Monastery Guesthouse for three days prior to the event.
