New Norcia Library Lecture
The New Norcia Library Lecture is held annually to encourage sustained excellence in the field of librarianship.
The lecture creates a space for reflection in library and information science that is rare in a very practice driven profession. It encourages wide participation in thoughtful discussion on key issues and future directions. As a result, librarians who work in many different types of libraries attend the event.
The 2012 New Norcia Library Lecture will be held in New Norcia on Friday 7 September from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
This year, the event will highlight the National Year of Reading. The principal speakers will be William Yeoman, who is Books Editor and Senior Arts Writer for The West Australian and Liz Byrski, a well-known author who lectures in Professional and Creative Writing at Curtin University of Technology.
