From 1965-1968, he studied in Rome at S.Anselmo, gaining a Master’s degree in Sacred Liturgy. He was elected Superior of the New Norcia community in 1971. In 1984, he was appointed Parish Priest of Moora, where he spent four years working with the Nyoongar people. He gained a PhD in Indigenous Research in 2003, and has published a Nyoongar Dictionary, as well as The Nyoongar Legacy: The Naming of the Land and the Language of its People and, most recently, The Way of the Boorna-Waangki: A Tale of Cultural Endurance.

Abbey Press Event
This intensive one day course introduces students to letterpress printing. Participants will learn hand typesetting using a variety of different typefaces and to print using at least two different presses. They will lock up type in a forme, learn how to roll out ink and ink up a press and print a poster and a small card.
